The EtherCAT Gateway serves as a crucial interface for AS-Interface applications, integrating a fail-safe PLC that ensures dependable communication with sensor and actuator components. Its designation code is SmartPLC SafeLine+ 2ASi ECAT.
Designed for DIN rail mounting, this gateway operates within a voltage range of 18 to 32 DC, drawing less than 750 mA of current. It supports two AS-i masters and features electrical separation for enhanced safety. The device is equipped with a full graphic LCD display that indicates the status of all AS-i slaves, while user-friendly configuration and intuitive operation are facilitated through a quick-setup menu.
In terms of inputs, the device utilizes PNP digital input circuits compliant with IEC 61131-2 standards, providing a sensor supply voltage of 24 V. The outputs are PNP circuits with a voltage range of 18 to 32 DC, capable of handling a maximum load of 500 mA per output, suitable for controlling electromagnets.
The communication interface employs Ethernet with UDP/IP protocol, supporting programming with transmission rates of 10 MBaud and 100 MBaud via RJ45 connectors. Operating conditions allow for ambient temperatures from 0 to 45 °C and storage temperatures from -20 to 70 °C, with a maximum relative humidity of 95% (non-condensing).
