The Surge-Trap® Type 1 ST-XR Series is designed to provide reliable surge protection for 480Y/277V systems, making it suitable for branch panels and individual equipment. With a maximum discharge current rating of 50 kA and a voltage protection rating of 2000V L-L, it effectively safeguards against transient surges. The device incorporates TPMOV® technology, ensuring operational safety and compliance with UL1449 4th Edition standards.

This unit features a compact design that allows for flexible installation, either line or load, and is pre-wired for ease of connection. The operating temperature range extends from a minimum of -40 °C to a maximum of 85 °C, making it suitable for various environments. With a maximum continuous operating voltage (MCOV) of 640V, it protects against voltage spikes across multiple modes: line-to-ground, line-to-neutral, and line-to-line.

Constructed from polycarbonate, the housing provides durability and a flammability rating of UL94-5VA. The Surge-Trap® Type 1 ST-XR Series is also rated for a short circuit current rating (SCCR) of 200 kA, ensuring robust performance in demanding applications.
