The Modicon MCM safe input expansion module is a robust solution that provides 8 digital inputs, 4 test outputs, and is equipped with captive spring clamp terminals. This module is designed to monitor remotely your safety I/O. It features removable terminal blocks for electrical connection and an IP20 rating. The module also offers configurable filters and delays for each single input.
The module includes LEDs on its front face, displaying the status of power supply, run, internal or external errors, input and output status. It is connected to the safety controller via a backplane expansion connector and weighs 0.23kg. Its dimensions are 22.5mm (Depth), 99mm (Height) and 114.5mm (Width). The housing is red and it is powered with 24 VDC.
This safe I/O module is ideal for monitoring safety functions such as emergency stop, guard monitoring, perimeter guarding, position monitoring, speed monitoring and enabling movement. It is certified by RCM, CULus and TÜV. It can reach such safety levels as category 4 conforming to EN/ISO 13849-1, PLe conforming to EN/ISO 13849-1, Type 4 conforming to EN/IEC 61496-1, and SILCL3 conforming to IEC 62061. Compatible accessories include a memory card and the backplane connector. The module installs on Omega 35mm DIN rail conforming to EN 50022.
