This XS9 is a part of the OsiSense XS product range of inductive proximity sensors. Inductive proximity sensors enable the detection, without physical contact, of metal objects. Its range of applications is very extensive and includes monitoring the position of machine parts (cams, end stops, etc.) or counting the presence of metal objects. These sensors have high operating rates, fast response, and excellent resistance to industrial environments (robust products, fully encapsulated in resin). The range of this sensor is 0.08in (2mm) to 1.06in (27mm). The sensor accepts 12VDC to 24VDC power and provides an analog current output from 4mA to 20mA along with an output state LED. The sensor is a non flush mountable PBT sensor with a five position turret head and screw clamp terminals. It is compliant with UL, CE, CSA, and CCC standards and IP65, IP67, and IP69K rated. It is suitable for railway, mobile equipment, material handling/conveying/logistics, material working/machine tools, packaging, robotics, food and beverage industries. This product is certified by CE, CCC, CSA and UL. Inductive sensors come in flush and non-flush versions, M8, M12, M18, M30 short and long bodies cylindrical forms, standard cubic, rectangular and flat forms. The XS range is an offer of inductive proximity sensors for the detection of metal objects up to 60mm without physical contact. The oscillator produces an alternating electromagnetic field that exits the detection area of the sensor. Any metallic object penetrating this field is then detected. This general purpose threaded cylindrical (M18) inductive proximity sensor is made of metal and it is flush mountable. Its nominal sensing distance is 10mm, it supports 1 normally open NPN discrete output and it has a switching frequency of 1000Hz. It works in a temperature range of -25°C and +70°C, it is dustproof and waterproof (IP68). It is made of metal. It measures 39mm (length) x 18mm (diameter) and weighs 0.22kg. It is suitable for railway, mobile equipment, lifts and escalators, hoisting, material handling, machine tools, packaging, food and beverage industries, and robotics. This sensor is certified UL and CSA. The main advantage of the inductive detection offered by the sensors of the XS range is that there is no physical contact with the object to be detected.
