The Class 3400 Smart Meters, designated as H34, are equipped with sophisticated dual protocol communications, allowing for simultaneous operation with two energy monitoring systems. These systems can include building automation systems (BAS) for energy tracking and billing or measurement and verification (M&V) reporting tools. Additionally, an optional feature package may be included, offering built-in load control capabilities and two pulse outputs for kWh and kVARh monitoring.

Featuring an advanced 4-line large LCD display with backlight, the meter provides enhanced visibility of critical data. Connectivity options include RS485 and Ethernet communications, facilitating integration into various systems. The device is designed to operate efficiently within a wide temperature range, from a minimum of -4 °F (-20 °C) to a maximum of 122 °F (50 °C), and can withstand humidity levels of up to 95% non-condensing.

With compliance to ANSI C12.20 and UL/CUL standards, the Class 3400 meter is suitable for commercial and industrial applications, providing accurate readings within ±1% from 1% to 100% of the rated load. The meter is housed in a sturdy JIC steel enclosure and includes three split-core current sensors for precise measurement.
