The LGP series is a non-filtered SCR drive with isolation designed to run permanent magnet DC motors. These 1Q drives can accept any 0-10 VDC (or 4-20 mA for some models) signal range for motor speed control. Single voltage units utilize our compact industry standard footprint, while dual voltage units come pre-mounted on a heat sink or installed in NEMA 4X enclosures.

The DCR300-30-LFB is a modified DCR300-30 drive designed for positioning applications with the use of a feedback resistor to create a closed loop system. This can be a linear or rotary feedback resistor that allows us to do linear positioning in actuator or motor and ball screw applications, or can be used for angular positioning of a motor shaft. With our 8-bit on-board microprocessor, we can section that feedback into 1024 segments, meaning we can accurate to within 1/1000 of commanded position. The command signal can come in the form or a potentiometer or 0-5 VDC analog signal from a PLC or sensor.

The MHS series of drives adds to our already feature rich 1Q offering. With an isolated input that can accept a grounded 4-20 mA or 0-10 VDC signal, Programmable Logic Control (PLC) or motion card connectivity is easy. The addition of cage clamp terminals on all logic connections, and power connections on some models, makes installation a breeze. Aside from having all the standard calibration adjustments offered by our other 1Q drives, the MHS series also offers start/stop push button inputs, dual voltage power capability, on-board fusing, and tachogenerator feedback inputs for even more precise control of motor speed. With a wide 1/20 - 5 horsepower range, this series can control almost any PM or shunt-wound motor.

The PWL series adds to the versatility of our PWM offering by adding field voltage outputs for shunt-wound motors. With on-board selector switches, this series can easily be setup to accept 115 VAC or 230 VAC power. This full featured series comes with on-board fusing and cage clamp terminals to make installation simple and quick. Available in an open chassis style or NEMA 4X for applications that require protection from moisture. The almost pure DC output of the PWL series allows motors to run more efficiently and at lower speeds while achieving full torque than with the use of SCR type drives. With a wide selection of models that can run motors from 1/20 HP all the way up to 3 HP, you’re sure to find a drive that will satisfy your needs.

With the use of the on-board trim pots you can quickly set maximum speed, acceleration rate, deceleration rate, current limit, speed regulation, and minimum speed of your motor. The Volts/Hertz VFD Series has several models in the 1/16 - 1 HP range that accept 115 VAC and 230 VAC power. VFD600 models have a jumper that causes the drive to double the output voltage, allowing the use of 230 VAC motors when only a 115 VAC power is available. The VFD Series was designed to “look and feel” like a DC drive. This means quick and easy setup with no programming required. With its compact size, standard features, and application flexibility, the VFD Series is an excellent choice for most 1 HP and under AC applications. The VFD Series can also run single phase permanent split capacitor (PSC), shaded pole, and synchronous motors.

With its Burr Brown linear isolated input, the LGM series can accept a grounded 4-20 mA or 0-10 VDC signal from any Programmable Logic Control (PLC) or motion card to control motor speed. With its isolated inputs, the LGM series can easily be enabled or inhibited using NPN open collector transistors, dry contact relays, or switches. Status LEDs on the drive also allow for convenient monitoring. With separate models designed to accept either 115 or 230 VAC power and all the standard features offered by our 1Q drive family, this series can effortlessly be incorporated into any demanding application where electrical isolation is needed.

The LGD series of motor drives is a versatile and compact SCR drive designed for any 1Q application where a field output is not required. With most of the features offered by the LGC family of drives, the LGD series offers even more flexibility. Unlike the LGC series where it’s inhibit function is actuated by the closing of the inhibit terminals, the LGD series allows you to choose either to open or close to inhibit. Other user selectable features include inhibiting to zero or to minimum speed, and torque mode or speed mode operation. With the unit set up to run in torque mode, you can easily control the amount of current that is supplied to your motor via an external potentiometer, perfect for tensioning applications. This feature rich series is easily adapted to meet almost any application need.

The PMF Series is the latest offering in a growing list of VFDs from American Control Electronics. Able to control 115 and 230 VAC, single and three phase motors, the PMF Series is designed to meet the market demands of VFD users who wish to simply run their motors without the complicated menu-driven setup typical of most VFDs today. The onboard microprocessor allows for custom programming for OEMs. Whether it’s as simple as changing the purpose of a jumper, input, or trim pot, to programming entire routines and behaviors specific only to the OEMs application, the PMF is great for integrating PLC like functionality into your operation. Doing this can eliminate the need of a separate PLC altogether or enhance a system that currently does not have one. The PMF Series has been tested to the 61800-5-1 Standard and is UL listed in the US and Canada, and includes isolation for remote control from an analog signal.

The DCN series of drives are reliable low voltage drives that provide both speed control and current limiting in low HP applications. Roughly the size of a quarter, these drives are being implemented in applications in which the customer traditionally powers the motor directly off a power supply or battery, which doesn’t allow for control or protection of the motor. The drive allows the OEM speed control of their motor, but also provides a current limit trim pot to protect the motor in the case of an overload or jam.

The PWP series is an economical and compact solution for those who seek the benefits of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology. The almost pure DC voltage provided by the PWP series allows for quieter and cooler operation of any permanent magnet DC motor. The 1.05 form factor of the DC output extends motor brush life and allows for an increase in motor torque throughout the speed range. With a full range of adjustments, such as Maximum Speed, Current Limit, IR Compensation, and available with an isolated input, the PWP series can easily be calibrated to run a wide range of motors from 1/100 to 1 HP. Because of PWMs superiority over SCR technology, this series is the perfect choice for any application where extending motor life is desired.
