The LGC series is our most widely used series for general purpose 90/180 VDC brushed DC motor applications. This compact, non-filtered SCR drive series offers many user friendly adjustments. With the use of the on-board trim pots you can quickly set maximum speed, acceleration rate, deceleration rate, current limit, speed regulation, and minimum speed of your motor. With abilities to accept 115 or 230 VAC single phase power, run permanent magnet or field-wound motors, the LGC series can easily satisfy most of your motor driving needs.

The PMF Series is the latest offering in a growing list of VFDs from American Control Electronics. Able to control 115 and 230 VAC, single and three phase motors, the PMF Series is designed to meet the market demands of VFD users who wish to simply run their motors without the complicated menu-driven setup typical of most VFDs today. The onboard microprocessor allows for custom programming for OEMs. Whether it’s as simple as changing the purpose of a jumper, input, or trim pot, to programming entire routines and behaviors specific only to the OEMs application, the PMF is great for integrating PLC like functionality into your operation. Doing this can eliminate the need of a separate PLC altogether or enhance a system that currently does not have one. The PMF Series has been tested to the 61800-5-1 Standard and is UL listed in the US and Canada, and includes isolation for remote control from an analog signal.

The PWP series is an economical and compact solution for those who seek the benefits of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology. The almost pure DC voltage provided by the PWP series allows for quieter and cooler operation of any permanent magnet DC motor. The 1.05 form factor of the DC output extends motor brush life and allows for an increase in motor torque throughout the speed range. With a full range of adjustments, such as Maximum Speed, Current Limit, IR Compensation, and available with an isolated input, the PWP series can easily be calibrated to run a wide range of motors from 1/100 to 1 HP. Because of PWMs superiority over SCR technology, this series is the perfect choice for any application where extending motor life is desired.

The DCR series are microprocessor based, low voltage PWM drives that are capable of braking and reversing regeneratively. The microprocessor allows for custom programming to fit any OEMs custom needs, sometimes eliminating the need for a PLC and/or sensors. They can even be programmed for use in the field without trimmer potentiometers, creating a simple install and a level of security for OEMs. Some models contain a “sleep mode” which extends battery life, and some contain a Fault LED with a built in flashing code for under voltage, over voltage, current limit, overheat, and short circuit. With features like pre-charge circuits, brake outputs, directionally based inhibits, you’re sure to find a drive to fit your needs.

The ACF series is a microprocessor based variable frequency drive. The user adjustable trim pots allow the user to setup the drive similar to a DC motor control, meaning quick and easy installation without any of the programming typically associated with VFDs. ACF series drives control 115 or 230 VAC motors, single or three phase, with either a 115 or 230 VAC single phase input. This is because the ACF drive is equipped with a voltage doubling capability that allows you to run a 230 VAC motor when only a 115 VAC single phase power is available. The drive’s internal carrier frequency can easily be changed from 16kHz to 1.6kHz to minimize switching losses or reduce electrical interference. Stopping methods include coast to stop or DC injection braking. Incorporated into the design is a microprocessor which provides flexibility of creating custom programs that can include specific user setting for OEM applications. These full featured and compact AC drives are the perfect choice to run any 3 phase and some single phase motors.

The RGA series of 4Q drives is well suited for applications that require the control of overhauling loads, frequent reversing or breaking. With on-board fusing and cage clamp power and logic terminals, installation has been made simple. Available in either open chassis style or in a NEMA 4X enclosure, the RGA series can be used in a wide range of environments. With the available field supply for shunt-wound motors, full assortment of adjustments that are standard on all our 4Q drives, and optional factory installed isolation module, the RGA series is a flexible and well equipped member of our 4Q family of drives.

When simplicity and a compact package are important factors in a machine design, the SPM series offers several cost effective solutions. While costs are kept low by providing no frills speed control, the SPM series still supplies the same type of full-wave DC voltage found on more expensive drives. Some models are also offered with built-in speed potentiometers for easy mounting of the complete unit directly on to a control panel. Available in either 115 VAC or 230 VAC types, and able to run 90 VDC motors from 1/50 to 1/4 HP, the SPM series is the best choice when simple speed control is required.

These drives are equipped with user adjustable trim pots to set Max. Speed, Min. Speed, Slip Comp, Boost, TQ Limit, Accel and Decel / Injection Braking parameters. ACF700 drives allow a 115 or 230 VAC input with a 115 or 230 VAC out, independent of the input potential. This is because the ACF700 is equipped with a unique voltage doubling capability that allows you to run a 230 VAC motor when only a 115 VAC single phase power is available. While the input is single phase, the output can be single or three phase. The drive’s internal carrier frequency can easily be changed from 16kHz to 1.6kHz to minimize switching losses or reduce electrical interference. Stopping methods include coast to stop or DC injection braking. Incorporated into the design is a microprocessor which provides flexibility of creating custom programs that can include specific user setting for OEM applications. These full featured and compact AC drives are the perfect choice to run any 3 phase, and some single phase motors, rated at 4 amps or below.

The PWL series adds to the versatility of our PWM offering by adding field voltage outputs for shunt-wound motors. With on-board selector switches, this series can easily be setup to accept 115 VAC or 230 VAC power. This full featured series comes with on-board fusing and cage clamp terminals to make installation simple and quick. Available in an open chassis style or NEMA 4X for applications that require protection from moisture. The almost pure DC output of the PWL series allows motors to run more efficiently and at lower speeds while achieving full torque than with the use of SCR type drives. With a wide selection of models that can run motors from 1/20 HP all the way up to 3 HP, you’re sure to find a drive that will satisfy your needs.

The LGP series is a non-filtered SCR drive with isolation designed to run permanent magnet DC motors. These 1Q drives can accept any 0-10 VDC (or 4-20 mA for some models) signal range for motor speed control. Single voltage units utilize our compact industry standard footprint, while dual voltage units come pre-mounted on a heat sink or installed in NEMA 4X enclosures.

The VFD603 Series have all the features of the original VFD Series with several enhancements. They include a rugged steel or plastic NEMA 4X enclosure, an isolated front end, minimum speed adjustment potentiometer (pot), output voltage doubling, DC injection braking, and automatic or manual restart when power is restored. The VFD603 Series accepts reference signals that are 0-5 VDC, 0-10 VDC or 4-20 mA without an additional isolation card. The DC injection braking feature comes with two additional calibration potentiometers (Braking Current and Braking Time) for easy set up. There is never a need to program the VFD603 Series. The dual voltage VFD603 Series has a “doubling” jumper that can be set to output 230 VAC to the motor when only 115 VAC is available. Another jumper selectable option is for choosing automatic or manual restarting. The features, fl exibility and compact size of the VFD603 Series make it the ideal choice for AC motor applications under 1.5 HP in adverse surroundings.
