The EDS Series factory sealed tumbler switches are engineered for use in hazardous locations where ignitable vapors, gases, or combustible dusts are present, such as chemical and petrochemical facilities, refineries, and various process industries. These switches are explosionproof and dust-ignitionproof, ensuring safe operation in classified areas.

Constructed with a malleable iron body and covers, these switches feature a copper-free aluminum sealing chamber, along with a nylon 6/6 handle that enhances durability. Optional corrosion-resistant stainless steel nameplate mounting brackets simplify circuit identification, eliminating the need for field modifications. A triple-coat finish—comprising zinc electroplating, chromate, and epoxy powder coating—offers additional protection against environmental factors.

These switches adhere to stringent certifications, including NEC and CEC standards for Class I and Class II divisions, and are compliant with NEMA ratings, making them suitable for a wide range of applications in challenging environments.
