The EFS Series non-sealed tumbler switches are specifically constructed to operate safely in environments with potential ignition hazards. These switches are suitable for classified areas that may contain ignitable vapors, gases, or combustible dust, making them ideal for application in industries such as chemical processing and petrochemical plants.

Constructed from a malleable iron body, the switches feature a durable nylon 6/6 handle and an optional corrosion-resistant stainless steel nameplate mounting bracket. The standard finish includes a triple-coat process comprising zinc electroplate, chromate, and epoxy powder coat, enhancing durability and resistance to environmental conditions.

These devices meet various NEC certifications and compliances, including Class I, Division 1 and 2, Groups C and D; Class II, Division 1 and 2, Groups E, F, and G; Class III; and NEMA 7CD, 9EFG standards. Optional 1- or 2-gang copper-free aluminum bodies and covers are available, which support further adaptability for specific installation needs. This switch design simplifies circuit identification by accommodating circuit description nameplates without the need for additional field installation efforts.
