The Class 5000 (H50) Smart Meters are designed to facilitate advanced dual protocol communications, allowing for simultaneous interaction with two energy monitoring systems. These systems can include building automation systems (BAS) for energy monitoring and billing, as well as measurement and verification (M&V) reporting tools. Notably, the meter features a 4-line LCD display with backlighting and supports both RS485 and Ethernet communication protocols.

With an operating temperature range from -4 °F (-20 °C) to 122 °F (50 °C) and an impressive maximum humidity tolerance of 95% non-condensing, the Class 5000 is suitable for diverse commercial and industrial applications. It includes two solid-core current sensors and is capable of handling 1 or 2 phases, with a current capacity of 100 A. The input voltage configuration can be either 3 or 4 wire, and the meter operates at frequencies of 50 Hz or 60 Hz.

Regulatory approvals include CE and UL/CUL certification, and the enclosure is rated NEMA 4X, providing protection against dust and water.
