The N-42 Dedicated Communication Unit is designed to provide seamless integration with RS-422A communication systems. This unit features a single D-sub 9-pin connector input, ensuring reliable data transmission. It supports a power supply of 5 VDC ± 5% (630 mA) for barcode readers, making it ideal for various industrial applications.

With its RS-232C communication method and RS-422A output interface, the N-42 unit ensures efficient data handling and connectivity. The unit includes one input terminal rated at 15 to 26 VDC, 10 mA maximum, and two NPN open collector output terminals with a rating of 30 VDC, 100 mA. The output terminals have a leakage current of 0.1mA or less when off and a residual voltage of 1V or less when on.

The N-42 unit operates on a power voltage of 24 VDC with a tolerance of +10% to -20%, and it consumes 260 mA or less. It is designed to withstand environmental conditions with an ambient temperature range of 0 to +50 °C (32 to 122 °F) and relative humidity of 35 to 85% RH without condensation. The unit is also resistant to dust and corrosive gases, ensuring long-term reliability in harsh industrial environments.

Additionally, the N-42 unit features vibration resistance, capable of withstanding 10 to 55 Hz with a double amplitude of 1.5 mm (0.06") for 2 hours in each of the X, Y, and Z directions.
