The XUSL4E Type 4 Safety Light Curtain is intended for operator body detection in environments with hazardous machinery. It operates using a transmitter-receiver system that generates two light beams, providing a protected height of 510 mm. This unit can function independently or in conjunction with a suitable safety control unit. It is equipped with two NO Solid State PNP safety outputs (OSSDs) and complies with category 4, performance level PL e, and SIL 3 standards as outlined in EN/ISO 13849-1, EN/IEC 61508, and EN/IEC 61496 series.

Operating within a temperature range of -30°C to +55°C, the sensing distance can be configured for 0 m to 4 m or 0 m to 12 m via wiring. The unit features an aluminum casing, with local signaling provided by integral LEDs to indicate device status clearly. The electrical connections include a male connector M12 with 5 pins for the transmitter and an 8-pin connector for the receiver. The current consumption is 42 mA for the no-load transmitter and up to 900 mA for the maximum load receiver.
