The Surge-Trap® Pluggable Surge Protective Device (SPD) incorporates Mersen’s patented TPMOV® technology and is designed for effective surge suppression without the need for fuses. It is compliant with UL 1449 4th Edition standards and features a compact design suitable for DIN rail mounting.

This SPD is equipped with a fail-safe self-protected mechanism and includes a visual indicator for operational status. For enhanced monitoring, an optional remote indicator can be integrated to relay information to critical control circuitry. The device supports a high short circuit rating and incorporates a thermally protected MOV, negating the necessity for additional overcurrent protection devices.

With a nominal operating voltage rating of 690V and a maximum continuous operating voltage of 880V, it operates effectively in split-phase systems. The surge protective device offers multiple protection modes, including L-G, L-L, L-N, and N-G. It is designed to accommodate wire sizes ranging from #6 to #14 AWG, ensuring versatile installation options.

Its specifications include a maximum discharge current of 50 kA per phase and a nominal discharge current of 20 kA (8/20). The MOV response time is less than 25 ns, ensuring rapid reaction to surges. This model features a total of four poles and is suitable for AC applications.
