It utilizes modulated visible red light as its light source, ensuring reliable operation. The sensor requires a minimum target size of 7 mm and projects a light spot diameter of 300 mm at the maximum detection range.

In terms of functionality, it includes two push-pull outputs that are complementary, short-circuit proof, and protected against reverse polarity. The output can be programmed for light/dark switching, with a maximum switching voltage of 30 V DC and a current of up to 100 mA. The response time is 500 µs, enabling rapid detection.

This sensor is equipped with various indicators, including a green LED to indicate power on, and a yellow LED to signify the operational status of the receiver. Additional features include a test input for emitter deactivation and sensitivity adjustment options.

Constructed to meet rigorous standards, it complies with EN 60947-5-2 and exhibits high resistance to shock, impact, and vibration in accordance with IEC / EN 60068.
