ACOD Automotive Cluster Ostdeutschland

ACOD Automotive Cluster Ostdeutschland is a cross-state initiative and action platform established in 2004, supporting the automotive industry's sustainable development in Eastern Germany. The cluster focuses on key themes such as digitalization, electromobility, flexibilization in production & logistics, and human-centric approaches, connecting automotive manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, research institutes, associations, and other institutions. ACOD facilitates close collaboration among technical universities, scientific institutes, OEM plants like VW, Opel, Daimler, Porsche, and BMW, and innovative suppliers, fostering the consistent and successful implementation of future technologies. The organization bundles regional activities and creates synergies within the industry for all of Eastern Germany, networking and qualifying small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with universities and other market participants. Since 2008, ACOD's competence cluster activities have been integral to their work, identifying developments and advancing trends and research to strengthen the region as a resilient, future-proof, and internationally visible automotive location. Eastern Germany, producing over 700,000 vehicles and nearly 50% of all electric vehicles in Germany, is a leading European location for electromobility and a central driver of the mobility transition, with ACOD contributing to its development into a European center for high-tech automotive products.
