Questions about pricing a BOM
Who is BOM Repricer for?
Companies that put a price on more lines than one person can check by hand: distributors and brokers answering RFQs, surplus sellers pricing stock before it goes up for sale, and buyers valuing a lot line by line before they commit to it. It works on any list that carries manufacturer part numbers.
What exactly do I get for each line?
For every condition you selected: the lowest offer found, the highest, and the spread between them as a percentage. All prices are converted to euro. The range is what you quote from - a wide spread means the market has not settled on this part, a tight one means it has.
What files can I upload?
CSV, XLSX or XLS with the column headers in the first row. You point at the columns holding part numbers, brands, quantity and condition. Every other column travels through to the result untouched.
Does the list have to be cleaned up first?
Yes. A raw file is matched to the catalogue on the way in. If the list has already been through BOM Cleaner, select that job instead and its matches come with it.
How is this different from BOM Cleaner?
BOM Cleaner answers what a line is; BOM Repricer answers what it costs. Cleaner matches part numbers to catalogue products. Repricer takes matched lines and gathers what the market is currently asking for them.
When will pricing not work?
Parts nobody is currently offering, and lists with no manufacturer part numbers on them. A range only exists where the market is quoting the part, so custom assemblies and single-source builds come back with a note rather than a number.
What happens to my file?
It is processed to price your lines and nothing else. It is not sold, not traded and not shared with other members.
