Why catalogues stay thin
Three gaps we see on almost every automation webshop
A part number alone does not sell
Many listings show the code, a one-line description and a brand logo where the photo should be. Google has nothing to rank and the buyer nothing to compare, so the click goes to the shop that shows specs, a datasheet and a photo.
Specifications nobody can read
Where specs exist, they often come straight from a supplier feed: values like "20.4;28.8 V", empty fields printed as "- - - V", labels in another language. The data is there, but neither the buyer nor a filter can use it.
Discontinued parts without a successor
Obsolete parts are a large share of what brokers sell, yet listings rarely say a part is discontinued and almost never name its successor. A buyer who needs the replacement leaves to look for it elsewhere.
What a record contains
What you get for every part number
We match every part by its manufacturer part number. How much data it gets depends on what the manufacturer publishes.

Lifecycle and related parts
Know which parts are discontinued and what replaces them
Each record carries the manufacturer's lifecycle status and, where it exists, the discontinuation date. The STBPDT3100 was discontinued on 09/09/2009, and its record points to the direct successor STBPDT3100K. Related products list the parts that are compatible with or complement each item.
- Active, active mature and discontinued status, with dates
- Successor family across product generations
- Compatible, complementary and spare parts for cross-selling

Specifications, ETIM, EAN and HS codes
Clean fields, not a supplier dump
Every specification and ETIM feature arrives in its own field with the unit kept separate and the same attribute names across brands. For the BMXCPS4002 that means 100 to 240 V AC input, 40 W at 24 V DC, 8.5 W dissipation and a net weight of 0.51 kg, ready for a spec table, a comparison or a filter.
- ETIM class and features, stored per ETIM release
- Values and units in separate fields, empty fields left out
- The full manufacturer specification on top of ETIM

Webshop product descriptions
Product descriptions written for search
For webshops we write a description for every part, built from the record's own data. It names the product type, the key specifications and the typical application, so the page has unique text for Google and a clear summary for the buyer.
- Unique text per part, not the manufacturer's copy pasted again
- Built from the record's attributes, no invented values
- Delivered with the record, in the same file or API response

How a project runs
From your part list to an import-ready file
Send your list
Part numbers with the manufacturer, in CSV or Excel. Messy notation is fine, and your own codes can stay in the file.
We match it
Every line is matched to a record in the database, with the same engine that runs BOM Cleaner. Lines that need a human look get one.
Agree the scope
You see how many parts were matched and which fields they have. Then we agree the fields, the format and the price.
Receive the data
As CSV, Excel, BMEcat or through the API, in your own column layout if you have one.
Send us a part list and see what comes back
We run a free audit on a sample of your part numbers and show you, record by record, how much data we can add before you commit to anything.
