Consorzio Melinda Sca

Consorzio Melinda Sca is a major Italian agricultural cooperative consortium specializing in premium DOP fresh apples, cherries, soft fruits, and processed apple snacks. Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Cles, Italy, the consortium unites over 4,000 fruit-growing families across 16 local agricultural cooperatives in the Val di Non and Val di Sole regions. As a primary apple producer and wholesale supplier in Europe, Melinda cultivates popular apple varieties including Golden Delicious DOP, Red Delicious, Gala, Fuji, Renetta Canada, Evelina, Morgana, SweeTango, and Kissabel. The organization operates innovative underground cold storage facilities within dolomitic mines, known as celle ipogee, which preserve fresh fruit using zero surface land impact and minimized energy consumption. In addition to raw fresh fruit production, the consortium offers branded natural apple chips, purees, juices, and seasonal fruits to global retailers, wholesalers, and food service partners. Visitors and tourists can experience guided tours of the processing plants, underground storage mines, and visitor centers via MondoMelinda in Predaia. Serving both large distribution channels and individual consumers, Melinda combines traditional mountain agriculture with advanced precision farming and sustainable supply chain logistics.
