Faramax Trafo

FARAMAX is a technology-driven company created in 2010, specializing in dynamic grid solutions based on MCSR technology and dedicated manufacturing of power transformers and shunt reactors. The company's main production facilities are located in Malpartida de Plasencia (Caceres, Spain). FARAMAX offers a range of products including power transformers and autotransformers up to 500 kV and 500 MVA, as well as fixed and variable shunt reactors with capacities up to 200 MVAr (3ph) and 150 MVAr (1ph) at 500 kV, and up to 280 MVAr (3ph) at 220 kV. Additionally, FARAMAX provides digitalization and monitoring services for power transformers. The expansion of its production facilities is supported by financing programs from the Government of Extremadura, the Government of Spain, and the European Union. FARAMAX plans to grow its factory team to more than 600 people in the first half of 2026, doubling the production capacity of its Malpartida de Plasencia plant with a capital investment exceeding 50 million euros. The company is actively expanding its international presence, with its first power transformer successfully energized in a U.S. photovoltaic generation project in June 2026 and multiple orders for renewable generation projects in the USA. FARAMAX also engages in joint research and development projects, including evaluating re-refined transformer oil and developing Magnetically Controlled Shunt Reactors (MCSR) for distribution networks.
