Nanaimo Forest Products Ltd. (NFPL), owner of the Harmac Pacific trademark, operates a 380,000 tonne per year pulp and green power generation facility in Nanaimo, BC. Harmac Pacific produces Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft (NBSK) pulp, a high-value wood pulp product exported globally, with major markets in Asia, the USA, and Europe. This pulp is utilized in tissue, packaging, paper production, and various high-value technical applications. The company prioritizes sustainability, producing pulp from wood residues and logs unsuitable for sawmills, ensuring it is 100% recyclable. Since 2014, Harmac Pacific has also been a significant supplier of carbon-neutral green electrical energy to BC Hydro, powering over 28,000 homes using waste sawdust and bark. Employing more than 350 skilled professionals, including power engineers and tradesmen, Harmac Pacific supports over one thousand jobs in the region across logging, sawmills, trucking, marine transport, and other sectors.
