Richmond Plywood Corporation Limited (Richply) is a Canadian manufacturer of high-quality softwood plywood, specializing in specialty, industrial, and construction panels. Founded in 1956 as a cooperative, Richply produces a diverse range of value-added plywood products, including Medium and High-Density Overlays (MDOs & HDOs) for concrete forming, paint-grade MDOs for signage, specialty sanded panels, and Marine-grade plywood. The company also offers standard and select structural sheathing products. Richply utilizes Coastal Douglas Fir, known for its strength and durability, and serves North American and international markets with sustainably sourced products from well-managed forests. Richply is committed to environmental responsibility, complying with laws and regulations for sustainable forest management, maintaining voluntary forest certification, and reducing its environmental impact through 100% wood fibre utilization. This includes converting 50% into veneer and plywood, 35% into chips for the pulp and paper industry, 5% into peeler cores for agriculture and landscaping, and 10% into sawdust/bark for energy generation, replacing fossil fuels. In 2008, Richply invested in a three-stage electrostatic precipitator, significantly reducing natural gas consumption and removing over 99% of particulate matter from emissions, enhancing air quality and reducing its carbon footprint.
