Serates (Sebastiano Ramundo Tessuti) is an Italian textile manufacturer and design company, established in 1977, initially specializing in the production of high-performance technical fabrics for the sportswear industry. During the 1980s, Serates became a global reference point for technical textiles, leveraging its profound technical expertise and aptitude for experimentation to meet the rigorous demands of innovative sportswear brands. This flexible approach also positioned the company as a valued partner for the fashion and luxury sectors, demonstrating a strong capability to customize products and translate designer inputs into sophisticated textile materials. Operating as a historic weaving mill in the Como textile district, Serates integrates internal departments for weaving, dyeing, and finishing, ensuring rapid service, flexibility, and stringent quality control. The company maintains an extensive historical archive of fabrics and applies robust expertise to constantly refine methods and techniques for bespoke textile projects. Serates is deeply committed to sustainability, offering a collection of eco-friendly fabrics made from selected and certified raw materials. These include SEAQUAL YARN, a 100% recycled high-quality polyester yarn containing ocean-recovered plastic from SEAQUAL INITIATIVE; Sensil BioCare, designed to reduce textile waste impact; and Q-NOVA, an eco-sustainable nylon 6.6 fiber from regenerated materials with full traceability. They also feature Q-CYCLE, a new eco-sustainable yarn from BASF's ChemCycling pyrolysis recycling project and Fulgar's textile expertise. Serates' production utilizes 100% renewable electricity and operates within a 10 km radius, minimizing CO2 emissions from transport. They also partner with LifeGate's Impatto Zero project to offset carbon emissions and produce fabrics certified by STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX and Global Recycle Standard, ensuring high product safety and sustainable production.
