Sovema group S.p.A.

Founded in 1969 in Verona, Italy, Sovema Group S.p.A. has become a leading provider of equipment and engineering solutions for battery production. Initially the machine shop of an Italian battery manufacturer, the company was later spun off and has since grown to serve customers in over 80 countries around the world. In the early 2000s, the company further diversified its business by acquiring another company, which added new product lines in power electronics, laboratory testing equipment, and lithium battery manufacturing systems. Today, the company offers four distinct product lines under its own brand names: Sovema, Solith, Sovel, and Bitrode. These provide customers with customized and turnkey solutions for lead-acid battery manufacturing, as well as state-of-the-art equipment for lithium-ion cell and module production, high-performance formation systems for lead-acid and lithium-ion storage technologies, and laboratory and production line testing systems for all battery chemistries. In 2017, the company changed its name from Sovema S.p.A. to Sovema Group S.p.A. to reflect its broadened range of solutions for battery makers.
