The Class 3400 (H34) Smart Meters are designed to facilitate advanced dual protocol communications, allowing for simultaneous interaction with up to two energy monitoring systems. These systems can include building automation systems (BAS) for energy monitoring as well as billing programs and measurement and verification (M&V) reporting tools. The device features an optional expanded package that includes load control capabilities and two pulse outputs for kWh and kVARh.

A prominent feature of this meter is its advanced 4-line large display, which enhances usability. Communication options include RS485 and Ethernet, ensuring versatility in connectivity. The meter adheres to regulatory standards such as ANSI C12.20 and UL/CUL, making it suitable for various commercial and industrial applications.

It is constructed with a NEMA 4X enclosure, making it resistant to harsh conditions, and features split-core current sensors that are included within its design.
