The Class 3400 Smart Meter (H34) is engineered for dual protocol communications, facilitating simultaneous interactions with up to two energy monitoring systems. This includes integration with building automation systems for energy monitoring as well as billing and measurement and verification (M&V) reporting tools.

It features an optional extended package that allows for load control and provides two pulse outputs for kWh and kVARh. The device is equipped with a four-line LCD display with backlight, enhancing visibility, and supports communications via RS485 and Ethernet protocols.

With an operational range from -4 °F to 122 °F (-20 °C to 50 °C) and a maximum humidity tolerance of 95% non-condensing, this submeter is suitable for commercial and industrial environments. The Class 3400 maintains an accuracy of ±1% across a load range of 1% to 100% of its rated capacity. It operates using a 3 or 4 wire input voltage configuration and does not include current sensors, utilizing solid-core technology instead.

Regulatory approvals include ANSI C12.20 and UL/CUL certifications. The enclosure is made of JIC steel, ensuring durability in industrial settings.
