The Schneider Electric Altistart 48 is a sophisticated soft starter controller that utilizes six thyristors to facilitate torque-controlled soft starting and stopping of three-phase asynchronous motors. This device provides a range of functionalities including soft start, deceleration, machine protection, motor protection, and communication with control systems.
Operating at a rated supply voltage ranging from 208V to 690V AC with an 88A rating, the Altistart 48 ensures smooth transitions and reduced mechanical stress. Its torque control system enables single acceleration ramps for easy adjustments regardless of the load.
Suitable for motors with power ratings up to 75hp (at 575V) / 75kW (at 690V) for standard applications and 60hp (at 575V) / 55kW (at 690V) for severe applications, the Altistart 48 is designed to cater to a wide range of industrial needs. It boasts a compact design with dimensions of 190mm width, 290mm height, and 235mm depth, weighing 8.3kg.
The Altistart 48 is ideal for centrifugal machines, pumps, fans, compressors, and conveyors, commonly found in construction, food and beverage, and chemical industries. It adheres to the IEC/EN 60947-4-2 standard and is certified with CE, UL, CSA, DNV, C-Tick, GOST, CCC, NOM, SEPRO, and TCF.
Connecting directly to the Modbus bus via its RJ45 connector port, the Altistart 48 can also be linked to Ethernet, Fipio, Profibus DP, and DeviceNet networks through a separate module. It is designed for vertical mounting on a panel...
