The XUSL4E safety light curtain is engineered to ensure hand protection in the vicinity of dangerous machinery. It utilizes a transmitter-receiver system that generates 46 light beams, with a protected height of 910 mm. The system’s reliability is quantified with a PFHD of 1.3 x 10⁻⁸, indicating a high standard of safety.

Encased in aluminum and equipped with integral LEDs, it provides local signaling for clear status indication. The curtain can operate independently or in conjunction with a safety control unit. It is fitted with 2 NO solid-state PNP safety outputs (OSSDs) and complies with category 4, performance level PL e, SIL 3 as specified in EN/ISO 13849-1, EN/IEC 61508, and Type 4 according to EN/IEC 61496-1, EN/IEC 61496-2.

With an operating temperature range from -30°C to +55°C, the sensing distances can be configured between 0 m to 4 m or 0 m to 12 m through wiring. The device’s electrical connections include a male connector M12 with 5 pins for the transmitter and an 8-pin connector for the receiver, ensuring compatibility with standard systems. Current consumption is noted at 42 mA for the transmitter and up to 900 mA for the receiver under maximum load conditions.
