The XS2 M18 inductive proximity sensor is designed for non-contact detection of metallic objects, facilitating operation in environments where physical contact could cause damage or wear. With a sensing distance of 12 mm, this cylindrical sensor is not suitable for flush mounting and features a diameter of 18 mm with a threaded M18 x 1 connection.

Constructed from durable PPS material, the sensor has an overall length of 70 mm and includes a male M12 connector with a four-pin electrical connection. It supports a three-wire DC supply and is characterized by an NPN solid-state output with a normally open (NO) function. The operational voltage ranges from 12 V to 48 V DC, with reverse polarity protection.

This sensor is particularly applicable within the food and beverage processing industry, providing reliability with a maximum switching capacity of 200 mA, and a switching frequency of up to 1000 Hz. The IP67 and IP69K ratings ensure it is well-protected against dust and water ingress, suitable for rigorous environments.

Additional features include a current consumption of less than 10 mA in no-load conditions, a maximum delay response of 0.3 ms, and a status LED indicating the output state. The operational temperature range extends from -25 to 85 °C, making it versatile for various industrial applications.
