The inductive proximity sensor XS4 M18 is engineered for the non-contact detection of metallic objects, which minimizes wear and makes it suitable for fragile or freshly painted surfaces. With a cylindrical design measuring 48mm in length and a diameter of 18mm, this sensor is fixed and non-flush mountable, utilizing a threaded M18 x 1 configuration.

Constructed from durable PPS material, it is fully encapsulated to ensure excellent resistance to harsh industrial environments. The sensor operates with a nominal sensing distance of 8mm and is equipped with a three-wire DC supply, supporting a voltage range of 12 to 24 VDC. It provides a PNP discrete output with a normally closed (NC) function, allowing for effective integration into various applications.

Notable features include an IP67 protection rating, ensuring its reliability in demanding conditions. The sensor supports a maximum switching frequency of 2000 Hz and has a response time of 0.15 ms. Additionally, it includes overload and short-circuit protection with a switching capacity of up to 200 mA DC. The XS4 M18 sensor is certified by ECOLAB and complies with various environmental regulations, highlighting its sustainable design. It operates effectively within a temperature range of -25 to 70 °C and can be stored in temperatures from -40 to 85 °C, furthering its applicability in diverse settings.
