Product Description

The Surge Protection Base Module VSPC BASE 2/4CH FG EX is designed to accommodate a protected plug for connection to four floating-ground powered cables, facilitating safe operation in hazardous areas. With a maximum input current of 3300 mA and compatibility with ATEX applications, this device meets stringent safety standards including IEC 61643-21 and IEC 62305.

Constructed with a flange-mounted housing, the module features a light blue color and an IP20 protection degree. It supports a range of conductor cross-section sizes from 0.5 mm² to 4 mm² for solid wires and up to 2.5 mm² for finely stranded wires. The terminal connections utilize screw connections with a minimum tightening torque of 0.5 Nm and a maximum of 0.8 Nm, ensuring secure connections under varying operational conditions.

Additionally, the device is certified with multiple approvals including CE, CSAEX, EAC, and IECEx, while also conforming to the ROHS directive. The environmental compliance includes a wide operating temperature range from -40 °C to 70 °C, making it suitable for diverse industrial applications.

Notably, the module also has a dielectric strength of ≥ 500 V against PE and is designed to facilitate a simultaneous sparkover gap between the mounting rail and the protective switch ground. The applicable standards ensure it can effectively manage surge voltages, adhering to appropriate insulation coordination and protection categories.
