Universal Transmitter PR 4116
The Universal Transmitter PR 4116 is designed for linearized, electronic temperature measurement using RTD or TC sensors. It converts linear resistance variations into standard analog current or voltage signals, making it ideal for applications involving solenoids, butterfly valves, or linear movements with potentiometers. This versatile device also functions as a power supply and signal isolator for 2-wire transmitters, and supports process control with two pairs of potential-free relay contacts and an analog output.Featuring galvanic separation of analog signals, the PR 4116 ensures accurate measurement of floating signals. It meets the stringent requirements for SIL 2 applications as per IEC 61508 / IEC 61511, and its failure rates correspond to Performance Level “d” according to ISO-13849. When used with the PR 4500 display series, all operational parameters can be easily modified without opening the device, thanks to its electronic hardware switches. The PR 4116 is equipped with a green/red front LED to indicate normal operation and malfunction, and a yellow LED for each active output relay. It continuously checks vital stored data for safety reasons and offers 4-port 2.3 kVAC galvanic isolation. Its low power consumption allows for side-by-side mounting without an air gap, even at ambient temperatures up to 60°C. Configuration, monitoring, and calibration are simplified using PR's 4500 series of detachable displays, with all programming options password-protected.With inputs for RTD, TC, Ohm, potentiometer, mA, and V, and outputs for current, voltage, and relays, the PR 4116 is a highly adaptable solution for various industrial applications. It is FM-approved for installation in Div. 2 environments and supports universal AC or DC supply.
