CTS was founded in 1977 with the intention of selling bearings and special transmissions. That same year, it began producing cylindrical roller freewheels in response to customer demands. Over the years, CTS evolved, marketing linear guides and roller guides which now account for around 50% of its industrial production. In 1992, the company released standard motorizable linear systems of variable length which have become the company's flagship products.
