The Class 3400 Smart Meters, designated as H34, support advanced dual protocol communications, allowing for concurrent communication with two monitoring systems. This includes integration with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and energy monitoring for billing or Measurement and Verification (M&V) purposes. The meter can be configured for 1 or 2 phase applications and operates within a voltage configuration of 277/480 V AC.

Equipped with a 4-line LCD display that includes backlighting, the device provides visibility under various lighting conditions. Communication options encompass RS485 and Ethernet, while the meter's enclosure adheres to NEMA 4X standards, ensuring protection in challenging environments. Regulatory approvals include ANSI C12.20 and UL/CUL certifications.

For applications requiring load control, an optional expanded feature package is available, providing built-in functionalities along with two pulse outputs for kWh and kVARh. The meter maintains an accuracy of ±1% across the full load range and supports a frequency range of 50 Hz to 60 Hz. With a compact design measuring 6.5 in in width, 7.8 in in height, and 3.4 in in depth, it weighs approximately 7.34 lbs. The operating temperature range spans from -4 °F to 122 °F, and it can function in humidity levels up to 95% non-condensing.
