The retroreflective sensor ML4.2-54-F/40b/95/110 is designed for complex applications, featuring a detection range that extends up to 6 m. It utilizes a modulated visible red light source at 660 nm and is equipped with a polarization filter, enhancing its performance in various lighting conditions.

With an effective detection range of 0 to 5 m and a reflector distance of 0 to 5 m, the sensor operates reliably under ambient light conditions of up to 40,000 Lux for continuous light and 5,000 Lux for modulated light. The device has a maximum angle deviation of ± 1°, with a light spot diameter of approximately 40 mm at a detection range of 1 m.

Electrical characteristics include an operating voltage of 10 to 30 V DC, with a no-load supply current of less than 20 mA at 24 V DC. The output is a push-pull type, allowing for electrically switchable light/dark operation, with a maximum switching voltage of 30 V DC and a switching current of up to 100 mA.

The sensor is housed in an IP67/IP69K rated enclosure, ensuring robust protection against dust and water. It operates effectively within a temperature range of -20 to 60 °C and features an M8 x 1 connector for easy integration. The compact dimensions (31.4 mm height, 13.9 mm width, and 18 mm depth) and lightweight design (approx. 10 g) make it suitable for various applications.
