The NEMA Type S combination starter integrates motor overload and short circuit protection into a single unit, designed for motor control applications. This nonreversing starter is rated for up to 10 horsepower at both 480 and 600 VAC in three-phase systems. The product is equipped with 30 ampere Class H and K fuse clips, ensuring reliable performance.
Featuring a melting alloy overload relay with Type B thermal units, this starter effectively senses overcurrent conditions. It operates on a control circuit voltage of 110/120 VAC at 50/60 Hz, wired for separate control, and is housed in a dusttight NEMA 3R/12 enclosure made of painted sheet steel. The enclosure dimensions are 24.0 inches in height, 8.34 inches in width, and 9.5 inches in depth, providing robust protection.
Included with the starter are a HAND/OFF/AUTO selector switch, a red LED pilot light, a green LED pilot light, auxiliary contacts, and an interlock on the disconnect. The product is UL listed and CSA certified, meeting industry standards for safety and reliability. Additional accessories are available for Type S starters, enhancing their versatility in various applications.
