The XUSL4E Type 4 Safety Light Curtain is specifically developed for the detection of hands near dangerous machinery. This device utilizes a transmitter-receiver system that generates 91 light beams to effectively monitor a protected height of 1810 mm. The unit's PFHD reliability is rated at 2.02 x 10⁻⁸, ensuring a high level of safety compliance.

Constructed with an aluminum casing, the light curtain incorporates integral LEDs for local signaling, which clearly indicate the operational status of the device. It can function independently or in conjunction with an appropriate safety control unit. The device features two normally open (NO) solid-state PNP safety outputs (OSSDs) and adheres to stringent safety standards, including category 4 and performance level PL e, SIL 3, as outlined in EN/ISO 13849-1 and EN/IEC 61508, as well as Type 4 compliance with EN/IEC 61496-1 and EN/IEC 61496-2.

Operating within a temperature range of -30°C to +55°C, the light curtain allows for selectable sensing distances of either 0 to 4 meters or 0 to 12 meters, depending on wiring configurations. The device's electrical connections include a male connector M12 with 5 pins for the transmitter and an 8-pin variant for the receiver, ensuring compatibility with various industrial systems.
