The Type III loose piece contacts are meticulously formed to ensure a high normal force, resulting in low resistance. These contacts are rated for a maximum of 24 A at a temperature rise of 30°C, making them ideal for signal circuit applications.

Designed for use with CPC and VDE connectors, the contacts accept wire insulation diameters ranging from 2.03 mm to 2.54 mm (or 0.08 in to 0.1 in). The crimp termination method is compatible with wire sizes of 18 to 16 AWG and 0.8 to 2 mm². The contact base is constructed from a Cu-Ni alloy and features gold plating with a thickness of 30 µin at the mating area, ensuring reliable connectivity.

It is important to note that the overall insulation crimp diameter, including the crimp barrel, must not exceed 3.18 mm (0.125 in).
