Product Description

The Banner Engineering T18-2 Epoxy Encapsulated Right-Angle Sensor is a next-generation, self-contained DC-operated sensor designed for long service life in wet environments. This sensor family is housed in a compact right-angle 18 mm threaded housing, making it ideal for applications requiring robust and reliable performance.

Featuring ECO-Lab certification, these sensors are constructed with chemically robust epoxy encapsulated plastic, providing maximum reliability in wet thermal shock environments. The epoxy encapsulation offers a redundant seal in addition to plastic ultrasonic weld joints, ensuring durability and longevity. The sensor's permanent laser-etched product marking withstands repeated cleaning cycles, and all exposed surfaces are made from food-grade plastic materials, making it suitable for hygienic applications.

The T18-2 sensor boasts a powerful and bright visible red emitter beam for easy alignment and setup, along with highly visible output and dual-function power and stability indicators. Advanced ASIC technology enhances resistance to optical and electrical noise sources, ensuring reliable operation across a wide temperature range of –40 °C to +70 °C (–40 °F to +158 °F).

Applications include wash-down environments typically found in the food and beverage industry, where reliability and chemical resistance are paramount. Note that this device is not intended for personnel protection applications.
