The Keyence GL-R56HG is a highly reliable hand-protection type main unit designed to enhance safety in industrial environments. The GL-R56HG employs infrared LED technology with a wavelength of 870 nm, offering a detecting distance of 0.2 to 15 meters. The effective aperture angle is a maximum of ±2.5°, ensuring precise detection even at longer distances. The unit supports both optical and wire synchronization, allowing flexible installation and operation. Additionally, it includes a light interference prevention function to avoid mutual interference between multiple GL-R systems.

Control outputs are provided via two transistor outputs, with a maximum load current of 500 mA. The unit also features supplemental AUX transistor outputs for non-safety-related signals. Error outputs and muting lamp outputs are available for enhanced functionality. External inputs support various control signals, including EDM, wait, reset, muting, and override inputs.
