Littelfuse TMOV25SP420M
- TMOV25S Series
Product Description
The TMOV25S Series includes a thermal metal oxide varistor (MOV) designed to tolerate specific AC line operating voltages. Exceeding these voltages due to prolonged abnormal over-voltage conditions may lead to overheating and potential damage to the MOV. This series incorporates a patented thermally responsive element that will disconnect the varistor during overheating incidents caused by such voltage events.
Based on the UltraMOV™ 25S Series, the TMOV25S Series meets the surge suppressor component recognition requirements outlined in UL 1449 3rd Edition for both cord-connected and permanently connected TVSS end products. The UL1449 3rd Edition approval for this series, particularly concerning the integrated thermal element, is pending, with product release anticipated for the summer of 2011.
Notable specifications include a maximum AC voltage rating of 420V and a peak pulse current rating of 20,000A. The varistor exhibits a maximum clamp voltage of 1100V and typifies a capacitance of 820pF. This series is suited for applications requiring reliable surge protection in electrical systems.
