The ML8-8-HGU-30-RT/102/115/162 is a diffuse mode sensor designed specifically for detecting printed circuit boards (PCBs). With a compact form factor, it incorporates background suppression technology to ensure accurate readings. The detection range spans from 15 mm to 30 mm, utilizing a modulated visible red light source with a wavelength of 645 nm.
In terms of functionality, the sensor's light spot measures approximately 5 mm by 25 mm at a distance of 30 mm, with an emitter opening angle of 3° vertically and 35° horizontally. The device operates effectively within ambient light conditions as specified by EN 60947-5-2 standards.
Electrical specifications include an operating voltage of 10 to 30 V DC and a maximum no-load supply current of less than 20 mA. The output is configured as a light-on NPN type, featuring short-circuit and reverse polarity protection, with a maximum switching voltage of 30 V DC and a current of 100 mA. The response time for signal detection is 1 ms.
The sensor is built to withstand various environmental conditions, with an ambient temperature range from -20 °C to 60 °C and a storage temperature range of -40 °C to 70 °C. Its mechanical integrity is ensured by an IP65/IP67 protection rating, reinforced by a housing made of glass-fiber-reinforced Makrolon and an optical face of PMMA. The overall dimensions are 31 mm in height, 23 mm in width, and 11 mm in depth, with a weight of approximately 50 g.
