Product Description

Lifecycle Status:

The definite purpose starter is engineered for applications with low duty cycles, making it suitable for air compressors, agricultural machinery, pumps, and HVAC systems. This device features a three-pole design with a full load rating of 50 amperes, accommodating up to 3 HP at 115 VAC and 10 HP at 230 VAC for single-phase operations. In three-phase configurations, it supports 15 HP at 230 VAC, 30 HP at 460 VAC, and 30 HP at 575 VAC.

The starter includes a melting alloy overload relay utilizing Type B thermal units to detect overcurrent conditions. It operates with a control circuit voltage of 220 V AC 50 Hz or 208...240 V AC 60 Hz, and is equipped with straight-through wiring for ease of installation. The enclosure is constructed from painted sheet steel, conforming to NEMA 1 standards, and measures 10.00 inches in height, 6.00 inches in width, and 5.56 inches in depth.

Auxiliary contacts are available for this model, designated as 8911DPS, which is also UL component recognized.
