The analog input module, part of the Modicon TM5 series, integrates into a modular I/O system that operates within IP20 protection standards. It accommodates a single input compatible with full-bridge strain gauges, supporting differential resistances ranging from 85 to 5000 Ohm. This module achieves a resolution of 24 bits, ensuring precise sensor readings.
With an internal supply voltage of 24 V DC, the module's current consumption varies by operation mode: 2 mA at 5 V DC, 52 mA at 24 V DC for input/output, and 65 mA at 5.5 V DC for full-bridge connections. The design includes no insulation between channels, while a robust 500 Vrms AC insulation protects the channel from the bus.
Weighing only 0.025 kg and measuring 99 mm in height, 12.5 mm in width, and 75 mm in depth, the module is compact and suitable for various industrial environments. It operates effectively under ambient air temperatures from 0 to 55 °C without derating and up to 60 °C with derating when installed horizontally. The product meets several international standards, including IEC 61131-2 and UL 508, and is certified by GOST-R, C-Tick, cULus, and CSA.
This module is optimized for use with the Modicon M258 logic controller and the Modicon LMC058 motion controller, facilitating an adaptable configuration of remote I/O systems within complex automation setups. The installation is straightforward via a 35mm DIN rail, which enhances its application in production, packaging, and material handling systems.
