The XS1 inductive proximity sensor is engineered for the detection of metallic objects without physical contact, minimizing wear and enabling the detection of delicate or freshly painted items. With an increased sensing range and flush mountable design, this cylindrical sensor has a diameter of 6.5mm and a length of 42.5mm.
Constructed from nickel-plated brass, it features a three-wire DC connection with an M8 male connector. The sensor operates within a supply voltage range of 12 to 24 VDC and utilizes an NPN solid-state output with a normally open (NO) function.
With an IP65 and IP67 rating, the device is suitable for use in harsh industrial environments. It can withstand temperatures ranging from -25 to 70 °C and offers vibration and shock resistance compliant with IEC standards. The nominal sensing distance is 2.5mm, with a response time of 0.2 ms and a maximum switching frequency of 2500 Hz. This sensor is part of the Telemecanique inductive proximity sensors XS range, designated for general-purpose applications.
