Volktek INS-8405A

The Volktek INS-8405A is an unmanaged 5-port, 10/100/1000 RJ45 downlink industrial switch designed for elementary communication between controllers and devices in automation settings. It features auto-negotiation on all ports, facilitating easy aggregation of devices in industrial Ethernet applications. This switch incorporates various in-built traffic optimization and network performance features, including Storm and Flow Control, and is VLAN aware to enhance data transmission and communication safety.

Constructed with industrial-grade components and enclosed in an IP30 metal case, the INS-8405A is protected from tools and hazards. It is engineered to withstand vibration, shock, free fall, interference, and extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to 75°C (-40°F to 167°F), making it suitable for harsh industrial environments.

The switch supports IEEE 802.3 standards, including 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 1000BASE-T, and offers Nway Auto-negotiation and Flow Control. It also adheres to IEEE 802.1p Class of Service for prioritizing data packets. The device is equipped with five 10/100/1000BASE-T (RJ45) ports and features LED indicators for power, 1000, and LNK/ACT status.

For power input, the INS-8405A accepts a voltage range of 12~48VDC via a terminal block connection, with built-in polarity and current overload protection. The switch consumes only 3W of power, ensuring energy efficiency.
