BiSS Association e.V. is a German industrial association promoting the BiSS Interface, an open standard for high-performance sensor and actuator systems in motion control applications. The BiSS Interface enables isochronous data transfer with short cycle times, supports daisy-chaining, and offers robustness through CRC protection. It integrates bidirectional communication for register access without interrupting data transfer and is suitable for functional safety with BiSS Safety. The association's technology also features reduced wiring with BiSS Line one-cable technology, catering to modern drive technology and IIoT concepts. With over 650 companies worldwide trusting in BiSS, the standard is widely used in motor feedback encoders, servo drives, magnetic length measuring systems, and robot joints, ensuring reliable high-speed communication and cost-efficient configuration for various industrial automation needs. The association also actively shapes and incorporates experience into official BiSS standards for torque sensors.
