Mario Grandi founded the company in 1984 with partners from the US and Europe. The headquarters was established from the knowledge and enthusiasm for military and civilian off-road vehicles, which had been cultivated previously in the businesses of Fausto Grandi in Munich and Frankfurt, as well as Antonio Siciliano in Milan. These businesses had operated in the import and export of spare parts for manufacturers of off-road vehicles, trucks, forklifts, and more.
