COGD (Component Obsolescence Group Deutschland) e.V. is an industry interest group focused on obsolescence management. The association aims to minimize or prevent the consequences of component unavailability in products, a critical concern as product life cycles for high-tech components and complete systems diverge. COGD addresses these challenges for products used in space, military technology, railway technology, power plant technology, and automation technology, where long-term availability is essential. Interpreted as a key aspect of Life Cycle Management, COGD facilitates knowledge exchange through presentations, quarterly meetings, and working groups among its member companies. The association also explores new sponsoring opportunities and coordinates with international bodies like IIOM to advance obsolescence management strategies and solutions globally.
