The LGC series is our most widely used series for general purpose 90/180 VDC brushed DC motor applications. This compact, non-filtered SCR drive series offers many user friendly adjustments. With the use of the on-board trim pots you can quickly set maximum speed, acceleration rate, deceleration rate, current limit, speed regulation, and minimum speed of your motor. With abilities to accept 115 or 230 VAC single phase power, run permanent magnet or field-wound motors, the LGC series can easily satisfy most of your motor driving needs.

When simplicity and a compact package are important factors in a machine design, the SPM series offers several cost effective solutions. While costs are kept low by providing no frills speed control, the SPM series still supplies the same type of full-wave DC voltage found on more expensive drives. Some models are also offered with built-in speed potentiometers for easy mounting of the complete unit directly on to a control panel. Available in either 115 VAC or 230 VAC types, and able to run 90 VDC motors from 1/50 to 1/4 HP, the SPM series is the best choice when simple speed control is required.

The next generation of PWM controls from American Control Electronics has arrived! Using a 115 or 230 VAC power source, the PMB Series is designed to run brushed DC motors, up to 180 VDC. The PWM technology creates a cleaner output voltage compared to older SCR circuitry, which allows the motor to run at a cooler operating temperature at comparatively higher and lower speeds. The PMB is also a regenerative control, meaning it can reverse on-the-fly without any contacts on the motor armature. The integrated dump circuitry eliminates the need for accessory cards and external relays in high inertia applications. The onboard microprocessor allows for custom programming for OEMs. Whether it’s as simple as changing the purpose of a jumper, input, or trim pot, to programming entire routines and behaviors specific only to the OEMs application, the PMB is great for integrating PLC like functionality into your operation. Doing this can eliminate the need of a separate PLC altogether or enhance a system that currently does not have one. The PMB Series has been tested to the 61800-5-1 Standard and is UL listed in the US and Canada, and includes isolation for remote control from an analog signal.

The LGP series is a non-filtered SCR drive with isolation designed to run permanent magnet DC motors. These 1Q drives can accept any 0-10 VDC (or 4-20 mA for some models) signal range for motor speed control. Single voltage units utilize our compact industry standard footprint, while dual voltage units come pre-mounted on a heat sink or installed in NEMA 4X enclosures.

The MGB400 Series is a microprocessor-based, fully regenerative SCR control designed to provide basic but scalable function at very economical price points. Gone is the traditional ‘adder card’ that contained logic. That has reduced overall height by 33%, thus fitting into control panel space that most regenerative SCRs cannot. The MGB400 maintains the traditional ACE footprint and mounting pattern, making it easy for existing regenerative drive users to upgrade. The MGB400 was designed with the idea of customization for OEMs, with 4 trim pots and several inputs eligible for modification to suite your needs. Standard MGB400’s can perform speed or torque mode. The drive can accept a bidirectional signal, or provides a jumper so that bidirectional control can be achieved using only a unidirectional signal.

The microprocessor allows for custom programming to fit any OEMs custom needs, sometimes eliminating the need for a PLC and/or sensors. They can even be programmed for use in the field without trimmer potentiometers, creating a simple install and a level of security for OEMs. Some models contain a “sleep mode” which extends battery life, and some contain a Fault LED with a built in flashing code for under voltage, over voltage, current limit, overheat, and short circuit. With features like pre-charge circuits, brake outputs, directionally based inhibits, you’re sure to find a drive to fit your needs.

The MGC403 Series is one of the most feature-rich 4Q regen drives on the market. Ideal for OEMs and end users looking for a powerful, but simple to apply regenerative control. Users can easily select from a variety of operational modes including speed, torque, cycling and positioning. The built-in Motor Overload Protection meets UL 61800-5-1 and negates the need for external devices that will be required by other drives. With our standard mounting pattern and footprint, error codes for easy trouble shooting, and factory mounted fuse option, the MCC403 is designed for both new and retro-fit applications. With an on-board microprocessor, the MGC Series can also be fitted with custom programming to suite an OEMs need as well as provide Modbus communication. With on-board fusing and cage clamp power and logic terminals, installation has been made simple. Available in either open chassis style or in a NEMA 4X enclosure, the RGA series can be used in a wide range of environments. With most of the features offered by the LGC family of drives, the LGD series offers even more flexibility. Unlike the LGC series where it’s inhibit function is actuated by the closing of the inhibit terminals, the LGD series allows you to choose either to open or close to inhibit. Other user selectable features include inhibiting to zero or to minimum speed, and torque mode or speed mode operation. With the unit set up to run in torque mode, you can easily control the amount of current that is supplied to your motor via an external potentiometer, perfect for tensioning applications. This feature rich series is easily adapted to meet almost any application need.

The LVA Series of variable speed drives provide exceptional performance for your 12 and 24 VDC fractional horsepower motors. Packaged in a compact footprint, these user friendly drives are available with a unique AC or DC input voltage. The auto ranging unipolar power supply allows standard low voltage drive to accepts inputs from any AC voltage source ranging from 8 to 24 VAC, or DC voltage between 10 to 36 VDC. The LVA Series is ideal for cost sensitive variable speed applications requiring outstanding performance, and cooler, quieter motor operation from low voltage DC motors.

The PWL series adds to the versatility of our PWM offering by adding field voltage outputs for shunt-wound motors. With on-board selector switches, this series can easily be setup to accept 115 VAC or 230 VAC power. This full featured series comes with on-board fusing and cage clamp terminals to make installation simple and quick. Available in an open chassis style or NEMA 4X for applications that require protection from moisture. The almost pure DC output of the PWL series allows motors to run more efficiently and at lower speeds while achieving full torque than with the use of SCR type drives. With a wide selection of models that can run motors from 1/20 HP all the way up to 3 HP, you’re sure to find a drive that will satisfy your needs.

The PAT series is a versatile and robustly designed full featured drive for PM or shunt-wound motors. The standard NEMA 4X plastic enclosure makes this series the perfect choice for harsh environments where protection from moisture is needed. With its factory installed heat sink, this series can drive a wide range of motors without the need for any type of upgrade or additional heat sinking. And with the same user adjustable features offered by all our 1Q series drives, the PAT series can easily be fine-tuned for your application. Available in two different styles; non-reversing and reversing.

The DCN300 and DCN600 Series of drives are the perfect fit for battery powered or mobile applications as they are able to maintain variable speed control as the battery discharges. This results in an increase in running time of battery-operated equipment. The drives include an inhibit for remote starting and stopping, a power LED, and trim pot adjustments for minimum speed, maximum speed, acceleration, IR compensation, and current limit. These UL approved DC-to-DC drives come with an extruded chassis for better heat sinking transfer, more bus capacitance to handle ripple currents, and an oversized terminal block that can handle high currents. With a 1% speed regulation over a an 80:1 speed range, these drives are the perfect solution for low voltage DC-to-DC applications with no braking or reversing requirements.
