The Amp-Trap® R-Rated DIN style fuses are classified as current-limiting fuses with a high interrupting rating, specifically engineered for the protection of medium voltage motors and motor controllers. With a voltage rating of 3.3kV and a size compliant with IEC 282-1 DIN standards at 442mm, these fuses are suitable for North American R-Rated applications.

R-Rated fuses serve as back-up fuses that must coordinate with overload relays within combination motor starters. They are capable of interrupting currents ranging from the rated minimum to the maximum interrupting current. Notably, these fuses have a continuous ampere rating that reflects their thermal performance per ANSI C37.46, with an operational temperature range up to 80 °C and storage conditions from -25 °C to 80 °C. The maximum interrupting capacity is rated at 100 kA.

Constructed with a GMG insulating material, the fuses feature a silver-plated brass connection terminal type mounted via clip. The spring-reinforced clip model MR45 and the fuse holder reference SI 24/442 are in compliance with the DIN standard 43625. Ratings exceeding 19R can be achieved by paralleling multiple fuses; further consultation with the factory is recommended for such configurations.
